Big Bear Lake Annual Events~

February~

Snowshoe the Bear~Is a yearly event held every February.  It is a 5K/10K Snowshoe event.  Open to first timers and experienced snowshoers.  A fun event for the whole family! Check out the event calendar for more information on this event.

April~

Fishing Season opens~ Enjoy our beautiful, well stocked lake while your fishing pole does all the work. Make sure to get your fishing license, it’s not worth getting a fine!

Farmers Market~ Every Tuesday from 8:30 am to 1 pm at the Big Bear Convention Center. All the produce offered at the market is grown by family farmers throughout the greater Southern and Central California area. Get the freshest fruits, vegetables, and flowers direct from the farm to your table. The market also features unique arts, crafts, and handmade items created by local artisans.

June~

Summer Wine Walk In The Village-Stroll through the village boutiques and shops while sampling fine wines and light hor d’oeuvres. Merchants will showcase fine wines from around the world. A raffle prize drawing for attendees follows the event at 7pm. Sat, June 6 2015.

July~

FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORK SHOW

Have you been to Big Bear Lake for the Fourth of July show? If not, make sure it is on your “To-Do-List”. Big Bear’s pyrotechnics display consistently ranks as one of the top five in California. Big Bear’s Rotary Club, which organizes the annual event, always shoots the highest quality fireworks. They also make sure to do a lengthy, 30 minute show. The fireworks display is free and can be viewed from a boat, around the lake, and throughout Big Bear Valley.  Call us today to book your lakefront cabin for the Fourth of July weekend!

Chili Cook off~ Takes place every year in the Big Bear Village. Open to both local and visiting contestants for cash prizes and awards,  including the opportunity to advance to the world championship! Sample a great selection of chili, salsa, food and spirits as well as great live music and lots of activities! Click the link below for more information.

 

August~

Renaissance Faire~Takes place every August for the first 3 weekends at the Pederson Sawmill located in Fawnskin. Come out and enjoy a weekend of jousting tournaments, medieval themed entertainment, and a delicious food and beverage court. There are five stages of continuous entertainment including three general stages, a children’s stage, and an NC-17 stage. Great fun for any age!

Antique Car Club Fun Run~ The fun run features a car show with 500+ cars – roadsters,  classics, antiques, and hot rods, lining the streets of Big Bear Village.

September~

Big Bear Lake International Film Festival~The Big Bear Lake International Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to showcasing the emerging talent of screenwriters and independent filmmakers within the idyllic setting of Big Bear Lake. Our goal is to nurture a festival that is highly creative, filmmaker friendly and which provides an educational experience for those people interested in all aspects of the film industry.

October~

Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest~Held at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center,  is a fun filled event with tons of activities the whole family can enjoy. From stein holding, to log sawing, to clogging & polka dances and much more. Rated Southern California’s #1 Oktoberfest, this fall festival offers even more authentic German entertainment, food and beer! Make sure to check it out!

Halloween in the Village~Bring your kids to the safest place to Trick-or-Treat this Halloween. With 50+ places to stop for candy you are sure to fulfill your sweet tooth. Take a walk through the village seeing all the horrors that it has to offer! Don’t forget your costume or you’ll miss out on the trick or treating!

November~

Christmas Tree lighting Ceremony~Come out for an enjoy evening of the grand entrance of Santa and the lighting of the Christmas tree.  Takes place at the corner of Pine Knot and Village Drive the day after Thanksgiving.

December~

New Years Eve Torch Light Parade~ After a great day on the slopes on New Years Eve, guests and spectators will be treated to a torchlight parade, which will serpentine down Miracle Mile run at Snow Summit. A spectacular sight to see as 100 skiers and snowboarders carry torches down Miracle Mile to weave a mysterious path of light to ring in the New Year. Check event calendar for more information
